Lower Air and Moisture Permeability
It is a well-known fact that foil saves the most energy, primarily because it is completely sealed. When high humidity is desired in the greenhouse, for example with very young crops, this is an excellent solution to save a lot of energy and create a favourable growth climate. However, as the crop grows and begins to evaporate, the humidity under the foil can quickly become too high.A solution for this is a knitted screen, consisting of a yarn pattern with foil strips in between. Our refined knitting pattern results in >25% lower air/moisture permeability, ensuring a more consistent and improved greenhouse climate. Although the screen is essentially sealed by the foil strips, moist (warm) air can be drawn through the cloth at a high Delta T of temperature and humidity. By regulating the climate above the screen with the windows, the moisture discharge through the screen can also be controlled.
Higher Light Transmission
The RES10+ FR energy screen is unique in its class. This is the only energy screen on the market with a 5mm strip. Partly due to this, this screen has a 7.1% higher light transmission than a comparable clear energy screen with 4mm strips, according to the NEN 2678 measurement. This constitutes the first gain.
The innovative enhancement of the RES10+ FR energy screen lies in the production of our state-of-the-art knitting machines in Maasdijk. Thanks to these machines, we have been able to make the adjustment of the knitting pattern even more precise. Consequently, the foil strips fit better to the yarn, resulting in over 25% lower air and moisture permeability compared to an energy screen with 4mm strips.
Integrates well with mechanical dehumidification
One reason for the increasing demand for denser energy screens is that more companies are starting to work with mechanical dehumidification and/or better control of the climate above the screen. Due to the much denser structure of the new RES10+ FR energy screen, this innovative screen can contribute to even higher energy savings and better management of the greenhouse climate.
